Frequently asked questions

What is domiciliary Care?

Domiciliary care, traditionally known as home care or Home Help, is a service which involves a trained carer coming to your home to help you with your personal care like washing/dressing/bathing and assisting you with your medications.  This also includes helping you prepare a meal and hot drink and can also include help with domestic tasks.

How do you select your carers?

All carers are carefully selected and have undergone thorough pre-employment checks.  This includes references from previous employers, a clear and enhanced criminal background check and ongoing mandatory training.  It is important that the carers demonstrate the ability to work in a sensitive and empathetic manner and are flexible to our service users needs.

What training do you provide your carers?

All carers employed, regardless of their background and experience, undertake Consultancy Care Ltd’s mandatory training.  Mandatory training includes Health and Safety, Moving and Handling, First Aid Awareness, Safe Guarding and more.  We ensure a clear log is kept to ensure all carers are up to date with their training.

Do your carers speak additional languages other than English?

What if I am unhappy with my carers?

We have a complaints procedure in place which would include the registered manager speaking to you in person about your concerns.  If this cannot be resolved then you will be offered another carer.  It is Consultancy Care Ltd’s policy to ensure that all our service users are given the best level of care at all times and if your unhappy at any time then we will act upon this immediately.

How can I get help for my mother?
